According to the mythological beliefs, Brahmatal is a lake where Lord Brahma has said to have meditated for several years. The place is counted as one of the best Himalayan trekking destinations. The trail will take you through two lakes, a large Himalayan meadows, beautiful valleys, hushed hamlets, streams and conifers and oaks forests. From Kathgodam the trek will move to the basecamp Lohajung. Lohajung is a small village located in Chamoli District, in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is considered as the basecamp to some popular treks like Roopkund trek, Bedni Bugyal, and Brahmatal trek. Further, the trek moves towards Bekaltal Lake- a lake that comes during the route of Brahmatal Lake. You will pass by beautiful oak forests. It is also known as the best camping site of Brahmatal Lake. The lake gets frozen in winters and offers captivating views of the surroundings.

Bekaltal is the last stop to reach the final destination. The trek moves forward and takes you to the enchanting lush green forests and beautiful meadows.

Brahmatal lake is perched at an elevation of 3,400m from Bekaltal. You will see the beautiful scenic views of the Himalayan peaks Trishul and  Nanda Ghunti on the right side and Roopkund on the other side. Usually, this trek ends at Lohajung. From Brahmatal you will start trekking towards the Daldun village. You will be passing through Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar on your way. The trail will be a magnificent mountain ridge, with sloping valleys on the other side.

And, this amazing adventure ends from Daldun to Lohajung.
